The on site resident, Mrs Kathryn Grant, manages Five Acres Cattery. There are five catteries, three of which house up to twelve single cats in their own individual two floor pen. The other two catteries contain larger pens for two to three cats boarding together so that you don’t have to separate your cats if they get on well together. (Cats from different families are never mixed). Each pen has its own spacious outside run.
The two-floor pen allows for a bed, food and water upstairs and a litter tray down stairs to keep them separate. Down stairs is a hatch to the individual out side runs. Access to the runs is all day and night during the warmer months but not at night in the colder months when the catteries are heated.
The cattery is far away enough from the kennels to ensure that the cats can enjoy a peaceful time in the rural country settings. In fact you will often find a number of the cats worry free, sprawled out fast asleep in their run’s soaking up the sun.
The pens are cleaned out daily and the cats are fed twice a day on tin or dried food. This is included in the price of boarding. Tinned is usually a selection of chunks in jelly and super meat well known brands. Dried is a choice of Hills Science Plan and either Technical or Iams.
If your cat is on a special diet or you prefer to bring in your own cats food you are welcome to do so.
You are also welcome to bring in any bedding and toys although these can be provided.
Your cat will need to be up to date with the yearly FLU and Entiritis vaccination, and you will be required to bring the certificate with you on arrival.
