About the Cattery…..
Five Acres Cattery is a seperate business from the kennels but conviniently onsite and available to cater for any customers who may also wish to board their cats and other small animals. The business is run by Katie Cottrell who has many years of experience in kennel and cattery management and also holds a National Diploma in Animal Management.
There are four cattery houses, two of which accommodate up to twelve single cats in their own individual two floor pen. The other two catteries contain six larger pens each of which can accomodate two cats boarding together (from the same household only) so that you don’t have to separate your cats if they prefer to stay together. Each pen has a outside run which cats have 24 hours access to in summer months and daytime access in winter months when the cattery houses are heated.
The cattery is far away enough from the kennels to ensure that the cats can enjoy a peaceful time in the rural country settings without being disturbed. You will often find a number of the cats worry free, sprawled out fast asleep in their run’s soaking up the sun.
The pens are cleaned daily and the cats are fed twice a day on good quality tin or dried food. This is included in the price of boarding.
If your cat is on a special diet or you prefer to bring in your own cats food you are welcome to do so.
You are also welcome to bring in any bedding and toys although these can be provided.
Your cat will need to be up to date with the yearly FLU and Entiritis vaccination, and you will be required to bring the certificate with you on arrival.
Each time you drop off your cat for a holiday you will need to complete a booking form at the reception. This is to ensure we always have up to date details to hand regarding your cats and any special requirements they may have.
There is also accommodation available for Rabbits and Guinea-pigs. Other small animals can also be housed but in their own cages only. We ask that you provide your own dried food and any extras that your pet requires such as fresh vegetables and hay. (Sawdust and straw is provided). Please call to enquire further.
